Alycia Baumgardner retained her WBA, IBF and WBO super featherweight titles with a wide points win against Bo Mi Re Shin over 10 three-minute rounds at the top of a Most Valuable Promotions card at Infosys Theater at Madison Square Garden in New York on Friday.
Baumgardner (18-1, 7 KOs) went 12 rounds for the first time in her last outing as she widely outscored Leila Beaudoin in Miami, while former world title challenger Re Shin (19-4-3, 10 KOs) was coming off a majority decision win having pushed Caroline Dubois for the WBC lightweight title a fight earlier.
The champion started strongly, with a dominant opening round backed up by a solid second, where her combination punches were troubling her opponent.
A nice right hand landed for the visitor in the third, but Baumgardner, 31, responded with a huge right of her own, and a massive uppercut rocked the challenger a round later.
Re Shin was competitive though and seemingly hurt the American in the sixth, and she continued her momentum in round seven, a meaty left hand finding the mark.

Try as she might, the 32-year-old South Korean couldn’t sustain the pressure, and Baumgardner used her movement to stay out of trouble.
The pair then opened up in the final frame to the delight of the crowd, but there was no argument as to who was the victor as the final bell sounded.
‘The Bomb’ kept her belts by scores of 99-91 and 98-92×2 and called for fights against Katie Taylor and Amanda Serrano.

Green stunned by Daniels
There was an upset on the undercard, as Shadasia Green lost her IBF and WBO super middleweight titles, with Lani Daniels taking a stunning ninth-round stoppage win.
Daniels (12-4-2, 2 KOs) piled the pressure on in the penultimate round, and several unanswered shots forced the referee to intervene.
Green (16-2, 11 KOs) was taken from the ring in a stretcher.

Remaining Undercard
In eight-round assignments, Elon Dejesus (12-1-2, 8 KOs) took a lop-sided points win against Connor Adaway (10-3-1, 4 KOs) at super bantamweight, and Natalie Dove (8-0-1, 2 KOs) won via split decision against Maria Michea Santizo (14-7, 8 KOs) in their flyweight bout.
Super lightweight prospect Alex Vargas (15-0, 5 KOs) remained unbeaten with a win on the cards against Rani Jalomo (7-1-1, 4 KOs), and Krystal Rosado (9-1, 2 KOs) got the better of Fernanda Reyes Delgado (8-1) on points in their bantamweight clash.
