Claressa Shields has doubled down on fighting Rolly Romero.
Shields returns to the ring on Saturday, moving down from heavyweight to middleweight to challenge unified WBC and WBA champion, Kaye Scott in Atlanta, live on DAZN.
A week later, Romero puts his WBA welterweight world title on the line against Teofimo Lopez in Las Vegas.
Five-weight female world champion, Shields previously said she would beat the 30-year-old American and she doubled down on those claims this week.
“Rolly I just know I can beat him,” the 31-year-old told DAZN.
“I just look at him and be like Rolly, I know you’re unorthodox and you’re strong but you can’t box better than me.
“I know I can beat Rolly hands down.”
Romero won the title last May, dropping Ryan Garcia on route to a dominant unanimous decision victory at Times Square.
Lopez is vying to become a three-weight world champion and will fight for the first time in his career at 147 pounds after moving up in weight following defeat to Shakur Stevenson in January, where he shipped his WBO super lightweight world title.
Shields though has backed the 29-year-old to dethrone Romero at the T-Mobile Arena.
“I bet you Teo will beat Rolly,” she added.
“He’s just going to beat him.
“He’s not going to knock him out.
“Rolly can take punches, but Teo is skilled, fast, athletic.
“To me this is a fight for him to come back after losing to Shakur, so he’s got something to prove.”
The ‘GWOAT’ returns to 160 pounds, having previously reigned as the undisputed middleweight champion on two separate occasions.
The Michigan native retained her undisputed heavyweight championship, outpointing Franchon Crews-Dezurn in February.
Victory over Scott should set up a third attempt at undisputed glory against unified IBF and WBO titlist, Tammara Thibeault.
